Have we forgotten there’s a heart item that’ll let you pick up just about any other weapon? Even then, it’s a special item that only the two princesses can get, so it still fails in that respect. Hell, they coulda picked Petey Piranha or King Boo and it’d still be accurate, even if it would have spoiled an unlockable character.
