Whenever I came across one of these displays in a department store, I felt like I’d walked into some kind of treasure room in the middle of the most epic dungeon, ever. Not only did I get to play a ton of games while my parents shopped, but I could also escape to the system prompt and write a quick BASIC loop that just wrote “BUTTS” on the screen until someone forced the program to exit.
