Okay, who is this ridiculous personage and why is she a “feminist icon” if she’s so horrendously out of touch that she’s spouting this patriarchal bullshit about young women?
Gloria Steinem, I don’t know you, but you need to take like half a dozen seats.
She created Ms. magazine and was one of the most public faces of the feminist movement in the 60s & 70s. She’s been a staunch advocate for empowering women and she’s been able to organize people and get shit done. (I know this is a Reader’s Digest version of a Reader’s Digest version, but she seriously has a lengthy list of accomplishments that I can’t type up in such a small amount of time.)
But this? …smfh. I don’t think she understands either Dem candidate’s platform. Tone-deaf, out-of-touch, whatever you want to call it, I think she’s crossed the threshold of progressive activism that she once stood for and descended into demagoguery.
I hope I’m wrong. I really hope I’m wrong.
