That’s nice and all, offering thoughts and prayers, but you know what would be really nice? Action. To quote the late, great Dennis Farina, “Do some fucking thing.” Paying lip service is nice and all, but if you want to have a real impact, you’ll make sure this shit is fixed. There have been 337 days in 2015, including today. There have been 355 mass shootings in the USA in that time frame (as of 7:25am Eastern). What happens when we have 10 more in this country? Do we get a free pint of ice cream to wallow in?

Forgive me if I seem a little fucking tired of politicians saying they’re sending “thoughts and prayers” to victims, as if that’s supposed to mean anything anymore. That phrase is as useless as an appendix and just as prone to infection. Don’t get me wrong- my heart does go out to the victims of these acts of terror. But what good is offering condolences when the only bloviating knuckleheads who can do something about it won’t?
